Great article, but instead of saying "the mainstream Catholic Church," I believe it should be called "the mainstream church presently headed by Leo which calls itself the 'Catholic Church' but in reality is a counter-church based on the false Vatican II Council, but finds its unnatural birth in the vitiated 1958 papal conclave," or something like that.

BTW, what is the meaning of your name, Irkutsk Ice Truckers?

Someone at a school seven years ago wrote emails from my account saying I was founding a company by this name. I tried to own the prank in order to "get back" and the joke stuck, eventually becoming a satire site.

I've pondered changing the name to "The Daily Anathema" or the "The Synodal Post" but it seems that people like the absurdity of our current name.

Here's our backstory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAWAcp2CDq4&t=1s

My thought is that you could maintain the absurdity of the name while also revealing what you write about, especially to attract new readers, by having "The Daily Anathema (formerly Irkutsk Ice Truckers)."

I'd like to. It's an irreversible decision, though, if I do as far as Substack is concerned, so I'm trying to be really careful before doing so.

My model of the crisis is again different, albeit somewhat overlapping. There is a counter Church, but I believe it's within the Church, like the parable of the wheat and the tares.

I had a good conversation that was very charitable and helpful with Michael Naaden / SedePicante several weeks ago on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLcO9SyWegM

But can the true Church be headed by those who betray Catholic teaching & tradition?

The Fathers of the First Vatican Council concluded that no Pope had ever been a heretic - not Liberius, Honorius I, John XII, John XXII, nor any other name that is brought up in association with the accusation of “papal heresy.” Nor had any pope failed to maintain Apostolic Tradition in doctrine, worship, sacramental rites, discipline or anything essential to the Catholic faith & practice. Never happened and never will. The Holy Spirit also prevents heretics from being elected pope (like the Freemason Rampolla in 1903). True popes are prevented from teaching, promoting or approving anything injurious to faith or morals or perfect worship, and not just when teaching ex cathedra. This is the Tradition of the Church.

"...in the Apostolic See the Catholic Religion and her holy and well-known doctrine has always been kept undefiled....this See of Saint Peter always remains unblemished by any error, according to the divine promise of our Lord & Savior to the prince of his disciples: ‘I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail....’” - Vatican I, Pastor Aeternus, 4.

Congratulations in putting a staggering amount of confusion in one article and trying to make sense of it. I have been following sedevacantism on and off since 1983. So I have seen lots of alleged "Popes" come and go. Like the guy who got elected Pope in a hotel in Assisi around 1994. And Pius XIII (aka Lucien Pulvermaker) who issued encyclicals from the wilds of Montana around 2000. He had a particular bee in his bonnet about not wasting money on useless pets. I am sure that there will be more like him.

You should probably label this as satire as it contains a lot of misrepresentation and there is enough confusion about what people actually believe.

Everything on our site is satire as with our logo. But the best satire is reality, just exaggerated only a little!

Agnostic. He may be another antipope. I am not sure. I defer to certain others, such as Ed Mazza, who have the scholarly acumen and integrity to figure it out.

Just curious, do you think the Holy Spirit would allow a true pope to impose a newly created Modernist, Protestantized, Masonic-inspired liturgy on the entire Latin Catholic world & suppress an essentially 1500 year old one?

In case you don't know the dark side of "Saint" Paul VI, see, e.g.

chiesaviva.com/lettera%20ai%20cardinali/letter%20to%20cardinals.pdf (summary of his evils)

The author, Fr Luigi Villa (d. 2012), was told by Padre Pio in the mid-1950s that he had a special mission to expose Masonic infiltration into the Church hierarchy. Pius XII gave him a secret Papal Mandate to do so, under certain conditions, after hearing of this. Fr Villa survived 7 assassination attempts for his efforts. He tried to stop the beatifications of John XXIII, Paul VI, & John Paul II, hard to do since JPII for ulterior motives eliminated the important "Devil's Advocate" from the canonization process, thus fast-tracking his own & many others' false canonizations.
