Should We Rebrand from Irkutsk Ice Truckers to Something More Mainstream?
We're Not Russian Propaganda, We Promise!
To make it more obvious that we’re a Catholic satire site, we’re thinking of changing our name from Irkutsk Ice Truckers to something a little, err, more obvious. Some people, for some reason, read our name and think we’re a Russian fake news website instead of a reputable, American, and Catholic fake news site. How dare they! The two things are completely different!
The IIT brand name is really just an inside joke understood by only a few people at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, WY, where we were founded as a school satirical newspaper. We’ve grown to become far more than that over the last few months, and we’d love even more to achieve a much broader Catholic audience. But doing so might require us to have a more mainstream name and identity as well as one where it is more obvious that we’re a satire site, as numerous people have asked over the last few days.
What do you all think of some of these options and the associated sample logos? Even if we are to change our name, we’ll retain references to “Irkutsk Ice Truckers” and “IIT” as our official corporate sponsors and overlords.
The Synodal Times
The Dubia Times
The News Jerusalem
Under The Pew
Articles of Faith
The Daily Anathema
Please let us know what you think of these names, fonts, logos, and our overall brand trajectory and content so far.
We’d also love to have people join the project with article ideas, submissions, editing, and perhaps even a discussion forum, Catholic humor podcast, and more down the line. There was a lot of talk on Twitter yesterday about people wanting a mainstream Catholic satire site or an alternative to the Babylon Bee, and we’d love to become that site.
We have dozens of articles like these in the pipeline, so you’ll have lots to look forward to!

Thanks for reading, and again, let us know what you think about our name and branding, and let us know if you have article ideas you’d like to see us write, articles you’d like to submit, like what
and have already done, or other ideas for our site. We can’t promise anything immediately, but the demand for a Catholic satire is out there, as, apart from a few amazing articles written by on his otherwise serious site, we’re pretty much alone in this space. And yes, please share IIT with all your friends!!! I think The Synodal Times is hilarious, because it will forever remind us of the disaster that is the synod!
