I think The Synodal Times is hilarious, because it will forever remind us of the disaster that is the synod!

Thank you. Unfortunately, The Synodal Times is taken already. We're still considering between keeping our current identity and becoming "The Daily Anathema," but we'll hold off doing anything until we get a little more feedback.

Please tell me that the other "Synodal Times" newsletter is a satire site, too, and not something serious?

It seems to be serious and actually be kind of "pro-synodality" in fact: https://thesynodaltimes.substack.com/about

Wow... I know there's more people who believe in synodality (and others who don't even know about it...), but I'm shocked every single time I encounter someone who has fed into the narrative.

Real synodality has never been tried!

The Daily Anathema would be perfect. It accomplishes everything that are you are aiming for.

It would allow me to have a weekly "Who we're anathematizing this week" post... Which would be really fun.

I just worry that no non-Byzantines or non-Orthodox even know what an anathema is, let alone how to spell it.

Sad

But hilarious

Has to be - the daily anathema. It’s a magical and grossly underused word!!

We need to get it back into the lexicon. People basically forgot it after Vatican I

I love the oddball randomness of Irkutsk Ice Truckers. I can see why changing it might be a good move, but at least keep the truck logo :)

A HARD HARD 'NO' to anything with the word 'synodal' in it.

I think you keep the inside joke name and let a few more of us in on it. Or tell everybody that all the really good names were already taken and your AI said IIT would be a winner name.

I like 'Eye of the Tiber' which is currently apparently inactive. Pity

Does anyone know who ran that site? I tried to contact them years back, but no one responded at their contact email.

The ‘whois’ lookup provides that information. A Linux or Mac terminal command would be $ whois eyeofthetiber.com

I suspect Windows has something similar.

You get tons of information, most of it irrelevant. But you do get the name and address and email of the site owner.

No Synodal please… I like the Russian name 😊(in fact I first thought it was Russian or some thing that has to do with Russia). If you are going to change I vote for the daily anathema

What about Humoris Laetitia as a name? A play on Amoris Laeititia, of course. "Humor" in Latin can mean "fluid," "moisture," or even "desire". But of course it evokes for English speakers the notion of humour. So Humoris Laetitia could allude to "The Joy of Humour," which I think is exactly what puns are all about! Anyway, just a thought. Thank you for lightening the atmosphere with your electric Catholic humour! (Yes, pun intended 😉).

I like it, but most people don't know how to spell Latin. I may use that idea for a joke in an article if you don't mind.

I love Under The Pew!! Or, I highly support leaving the name and logo the same! Especially with the subtitle "Catholic Satire," Irkutsk Ice Truckers is a great name.

* to be clear, I think IRKUTSK ICE TRUCKERS should be what you stay with… I saw that initially and I knew that the name was outrageous… there had to be something more to it… and without knowing the WCC background I was still drawn in…

I think Synodal Times is good for the moment we are in… but a few years from now synodal (hopefully) will be in the review mirror.. where as IRKUTSK ICE TRUCKERS is original and can apply itself to what ever the latest hair-on-fire dilemma is.

I know something more cute would get clicks… but … your humor is not for the mindless masses …. or it could be but those who enjoy the IRKUTSK ICE TRUCKERS would likely head for the hills.

I enjoy 75% of your product and 100% of your effort and creativity!
