Just be sure and put a Father Cosmus exception in there 😀. He’s one of the most devout priests I’ve ever met and he’s got a great sense of humor. I don’t want to say goodbye to that good man!

It is rather interesting how we got to a place where so many foreign priests are in our parishes. We have 2 from Kenya who have been serving in ours for years and one who comes back and forth from Nigeria for medical reasons. Most people don’t understand why he goes back there where he is Pastor in a fortress like parish and priests are constantly in the position of being abducted or killed. God knows how dedicated he is to his parishioners and I believe that is why he returns.

Yep. I meant this to be slightly sarcastic against Trump's only tool for solving most problems, but its mainly meant to show a bad way of solving our vocations' problems.

The missionaries who come here are on fire with the faith most of the time for sure. It's just ironic that the roles have been reversed, and that the U.S. is mission territory now.

Oddly enough, the priest to Catholic ratios are worse where we take priests from than they are here in America, so on average we are making it worse for Catholics in the rest of the world by taking their priests.

My pastor just said the same thing in a meeting the other day. He thinks it's scandalous that we have priests from places like Nigeria over here in America... That we are depriving the Nigerian Catholics of their priests. He said this has really bothered him for a long time.

They are on fire! The Pastor who comes for medical treatment has to be snuck out of Nigeria to a neighboring country to fly out. He carries absolutely nothing to indicate that he’s Catholic for his own safety.

His fortress like parish is secured by armed guards that our parish supports. We also contribute to a ransom fund since the local Muslims have found that kidnapped priests are worth more alive than dead.
